What will be your mission?
As a SCADA Specialist at IDRICA, you will take a key role in the automation and optimisation of integrated water cycle management processes. Your mission will be to integrate data from operational technologies (OT) and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) and represent them effectively in SCADA systems, contributing to the digital transformation and sustainability in water management.
Job Responsibilities:
Design and Development of Automation Systems:
- Design and develop advanced automation systems to improve the efficiency and reliability of processes in the water sector.
OT and IIOT Data Integration:
- Integrating data from various OT and IIOT sources into SCADA systems.
- Ensure interoperability between different devices and systems using industrial communication protocols.
Programming and Configuration:
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC, S7-1500), distributed control systems (DCS) and other automation devices.
- Implement configurations and scripts necessary for the correct operation of automated systems.
- Ability to operate with existing logic without relying 100% on central equipment.
SCADA Screen Desig:
- Design and develop user interfaces (HMI) on SCADA platforms, ensuring intuitive and efficient data visualisation and process control.
- Work with SCADA platforms such as Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC, etc. to migrate them to our own platform.
Management of Communication Protocols and Fieldbuses:
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, OPC, etc.) and fieldbuses to ensure the correct transmission of data between devices.
Commissioning and Supervision:
- Lead the commissioning of automated systems on the platform, ensuring the correct execution of configurations and protocols, performing exhaustive tests.
- Supervise and verify the operation of the systems during the implementation phase.
Technical Problem Identification and Resolution:
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems in automation systems.
- Implement improvements and optimisations to ensure safe and efficient operation of the systems.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical and instrumentation teams, to integrate automation systems effectively.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure a smooth and seamless integration.
Customer Delivery and Training:
- Collaborate in testing with the customer and ensure successful delivery of the automated installations.
- Provide technical training to customer personnel on the use and maintenance of the installed systems.
Performance Monitoring and Control:
- Monitor and control the performance of automated systems.
- Analyse operational data and generate technical reports for decision making and continuous improvement.
Regulatory and Standards Compliance:
- Ensure that all systems and processes comply with applicable quality and safety regulations and standards.
What will make you successful in this position?
- Advanced degree in Automation and Robotics, Automatic Engineering or a similar field.
- Be fully functional in the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Knowledge of different communication protocols and Fieldbuses.
- Data integration via ETL.
- Knowledge of some high-level programming language C# or Python.
- Experience in OT and IIOT data integration and its representation in SCADA systems.
- Experience in System Platform.
- Knowledge of industrial communications protocols (Modbus, Profibus, OPC, DNP3, IEC 104 etc.)
- Knowledge of PLC and DCS programming and configuration.
- Familiarity with screen design on SCADA platforms.
- Knowledge of communications drivers and fieldbuses.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate effectively with different technical areas.
- Ability to identify and solve technical problems efficiently.
- Willingness to travel and perform field commissioning when required.
- Communication and training skills for knowledge transfer to customer personnel.
- Ability to communicate in English.
